Montessori American Indian Childcare Center (MAICC) in Roseville, MN is a trusted childcare center that focuses on a culturally unique and holistic approach to lifelong learning. We are a high-quality and educational Montessori preschool providing early childhood learning opportunities for children. Our goal is to let families witness their children blossom into independent, conscientious, and well-rounded individuals.

Practicing American Indian Values

Established in 2014, our school has child-centered, self-directed, and experiential-based learning programs acknowledging all children as spiritual embryos who need to be respected and guided. We cultivate a child’s natural desire to learn by blending the child-rearing practices and values of the American Indian community with the Montessori method of education.

MAICC Children’s House Method

In Montessori, the early learning environment is called a Children’s House rather than a classroom to reflect its home-like setting, where children take ownership of their space and learning. In our model, observation is the primary method used to understand the development of each child. We believe that children are guided through their experiences to help them foster a healthy sense of independence and self-confidence.
